New World players, I know you’ve been trying to farm gear and hopefully increase your watermark to 591 by using the previous guide, but wait, there might be another place considered to be decent. It is located in the same zone as the Siren’s Stand, Reekwater, but it’s named Eternal Pool. Reekwater also has a quest that asks you to go there.
First off, the zone is located just north of the Reeekwater Settlement, and it is full of dryads, which are considered angry earth. They are highly vulnerable to fire damage, which means bringing a fire mage wouldn’t be a bad option if you’re planning to farm this spot. Also, having a good tank that knows how to maintain and hold aggro is very beneficial. Having a healer is mandatory too.
The zone has two LVL 66 bosses. One of them is a bear named Pride of the Trees, and the other is a tentacle named Viridulon the Rootbound. Both of them can drop a high-level gear, and considering they are level 66, that means you’re technically susceptible to receiving a higher item than 591. It hasn’t been the case for me, but completing the quest that sends you to Eternal Pool, might be a good idea.
There’s not a big difference between these two places, except that the Eternal Pool can drop a perfect ring for healers, called Silver Leaf. It has the following stats:
20 – 25 Focus
Spectral Ward IV
1.88% Elemental and 0.63% Physical Damage Absorption.
Sacred
+8.5% Outgoing Healing.
Brillant
You have +9.5% max mana.
Siphoning
You gain 2.8% mana per hit (cooldown 10s). Does not trigger off persistent damage or DoT effects.
So, if you’ve been in Siren’s Stand for the last couple of weeks farming your watermark, then coming here wouldn’t be wrong, considering you have two mobs that can be killed fast. First, you kill the bear, go upstairs, kill the tentacle, and by the time you finish doing that, the bear will respawn, so you jump down and repeat from there.
It’s good to mention that every tentacle can be pulled solo by just attacking it from range. The same applies to the boss at the top, Viridulon the Rootbound. In that case, you don’t need to aggro the whole room like in the picture above.
